1996 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Edition |

#92 of 1000
5.7L 350 HP LT-4 engine
6 speed transmission
The 1996 Corvette was the last year for the C4’s. In doing so GM wanted a limited & unique fitting close for the end of the C4 and to honor past Chief Engineer Zora Arkus Duntov. In early 1962, Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus Duntov began top secret work on a Corvette purpose-built race car to win Sebring and Le Mans and more specifically -- to put an end to the humiliating losses Chevrolet had suffered at the hands of Carrol Shelby and his Cobras. Only 5 of these cars were ever built before GM killed the project. They dominated the circuit from 1963 – 1967 and the cars are all owned by private collectors today. Making a limited run of the new bold looking Grand Sports was definitely a great close to its generation.
It has the LT4 engine that
was rated from the factory at 330HP, but dyno at 302 rwhp at the wheels.
Do you think GM underrated it for the release
of the new C5 in 1997!
The engine is still stock. The suspension has been worked over by Guldstrand Motorsports and the car has many extras that compliment its looks and handling without disrupting any of your needs for comfort
The looks of this GS is better then new. Perfect shine and no rock chips! Interior (black) is great too!
